Wolverine Athletics
Participation in team and individual sports not only promotes a feeling of family and belonging, but it allows students to develop themselves physically and emotionally. Students gain strength and coordination, learn healthy habits, and develop leadership skills while learning the art of good sportsmanship and fair play.
Eligibility
We expect student athletes to represent WWHS, their families, and our larger community well. All student athletes must:
prove they are healthy enough to participate in team sports by passing a yearly physical examination;
maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and submit to weekly grade checks;
complete ImPACT concussion training prior to beginning any contact sport; and
maintain regular attendance in both the classroom and at practice.
As a Wolverine, we win with humility, lose with grace, and do both with dignity.
For more information or clarity regarding these requirements, please read our student eligibility policy or contact our athletics director.
Effective Immediately, all athletes must have a NEW physical EVERY SCHOOL YEAR (after April 15, 2024), even if they had one in the last year. Make sure you take the New NIAA History Form, New NIAA Physical Form and Medical Eligibility Form with you to your appointment. The new pre-participant form contains three parts. We require athletes to submit part 3, medical eligibility form, to the school. Parts 1 and 2, the health history form (available in Spanish) and the physical examination form, must remain on file with the student’s medical provider.
