Elko County School District is seeking parents, students, employees and community members to serve on three Superintendent Advisory Groups designed to strengthen opportunities for stakeholder input and provide direct feedback to district leadership.

Applications open Monday, September 14, for the Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Group, Student Advisory Group and Budget Advisory Group. All applications are due by 5 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2026.

Each advisory group will provide a different perspective on the needs, priorities and experiences of ECSD students, families, schools and communities.

Parent Advisory Group

The Superintendent is seeking seven parents or legal guardians to serve on the Parent Advisory Group. Members will help gather and review parent and community feedback and collaborate on the development of a district-wide improvement and feedback survey for ECSD parents and guardians. The group will include representation from across Elko County, including at least one representative from outside Elko and Spring Creek. In-person and virtual meeting options will be available.

Student Advisory Group

The Student Advisory Group will provide a direct line of communication between ECSD high school students and the Superintendent. Students will share perspectives on district policies, campus culture and educational programs to help ensure student voices are represented in district decision-making. Applicants must currently be enrolled in 10th or 11th grade at an ECSD high school, and the group will include students from high schools across the county.

Budget Advisory Group

The Budget Advisory Group will provide community perspective, financial feedback and recommendations regarding ECSD’s annual operating budget, funding allocations and long-term fiscal planning. Membership will include ECSD certified and classified employees, parents or legal guardians, and local business or community members representing regions across Elko County.

Applications for all three advisory groups must be submitted by 5 p.m. Monday, September 28.

Completed applications may be submitted to 850 Elm St., Elko, NV 89801 or by email to hbaker@ecsdnv.net.
